Once a Golden Stag, now a Blue Eagle.
Bursted into the scene as the Stags' next Calvin Abueva, CJ Perez now has his sights set on carrying on the legacy of The Beast -- but in an Ateneo jersey.
Playing with the same brand of basketball as Abueva, Perez delivered eight points and eight rebounds in his first game as an Atenean at the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.
While skeptical to match Abueva's accolades, Perez vowed he will do his best to make his own name at Ateneo.
More than ever, he will be mentored by none other than the new Ateneo head coach and the head coach of the national team, Tab Baldwin.
Perez is looking forward to the challenge.
