A surprise "tigil pasada" transport strike is being planned by transport group Stop and Go Coaltion.
Stop and Go Coalition president Jun Magno in a press conference in Quezon City said the three-day transport strike calls againsts the Jeepney Modernization Project of Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), which would phase out old jeepneys when implemented.
According to Magno, they intend to hold a surprise transport strike and will only inform the commuting public a day before the start of the three-day "tigil pasada."
Magno has high hopes that a transport strike this long will send their message to concerns government sectors.
Other transport groups, including Piston, will also join the strike, Magdo said.
