One of the alleged scammers, Tychicus Nambio, calls them every weekend to rent their cars, said Mark Edwin Serrano, one of the victims.

"Per month binabayaran kami. Hindi kami nagpa-panic kasi may pera naman,” Serrano added.

He said that Nambio never fails to pay supposed rent payment so when the swindler ask for extension to utilize their car, they just agree anyway.

But upon seeing their perpetrator being arrested on television, because they are expecting that their cars will be returned after 1 month.

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said that Nambio and his cohorts, Rafaela Asunciacion and Lea Constantino Rosales are being monitored from leaving the country.

In a press conference on Friday, Aguirre added that the National Bureau of Investigation will handle the scam that victimized more or less 500 car owners.
