PNP Chief to Reshuffle AKG

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa on Monday announced his planned changes, and it is to reshuffle the whole PNP-Anti Kidnapping Group (AKG) after the kidnapping and execution of the South Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo last Oct. 18.

The PNP chief made the announcement during a press conference in Camp Pantaleon Garcia in Imus, Cavite, however, assuring that PNP-AKG Director Senior Supt. Glenn Dumlao will retain his current position.

According to Dela Rosa, it was Dumlao who solved the South Korean kidnapping case, which was barely a month after he assumed office.

He was convinced Jinky Sta. Isabel, the wife of SPO3 Sta. Isabel, is only hurling accusations against those investigating her to muddle the case against her husband.

Dela Rosa added the public should not confuse Dumlao with another Dumlao — Supt. Rafael Dumlao, who is SPO3 Sta. Isabel’s boss in the AIDG (Anti-Illegal Drugs Group).

He clarified that this Supt. Rafael Dumlao, who is not related to Senior Supt. Glenn Dumlao, is the one who has strong evidence of being SPO3 Sta. Isabel’s partner in crime.
