Japan PM Treated With Local Delicacies at Duterte's House

As reciprocation to President Rodrigo Duterte's state visit in Japan last October, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited him even in the comfort of his own home.

As part of Abe's personal request to pay visit at Duterte's place in Davao City, it was then included within the 2-day visit of the Japanese leader.

Served with local delicacies such as biko, suman, and kutsinta with mongo soup on the sides, Duterte hosted a simple breakfast on Friday morning, January 13, 2016.

Christopher Bong Go, Special Assistant to the President, shared on Facebook the 45-minute stay of Abe inside Duterte's simple shelter.

Go noted that 10 minutes of which happened inside the President's bedroom, showing the life the Filipino leader has been used to, featuring  his favorite, his own mosquito net.

Spokesman from the Japanese government said on Thursday that this part of their effort to strengthen brotherhood between the two countries.

Japan has been very active in helping  the country in our Mindanao peace process, providing development assistance, and supporting us on maritime security, our drive against terrorism, and the government's war on drugs.
