Ghost Rider is Coming to ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Next Season

Big things are coming to next season of "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and it's about to get really really hot! As hot as hell! Ghost rider will be introduced in AoS's fourth season, as revealed in Friday's San Diego Comic-Con. But maybe not the one you expect.

The upcoming Ghost Rider will be played by the True Detective star Gabriel Luna. Instead of Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider from the films starring Nicholas Cage, AoS will feature a more recent iteration of the character, Robbie Reyes.

In his comic arc, the high school aged Reyes works in a body shop and is gunned down during a street race while trying to provide better life for his handicapped brother, Gabe. While he is possessed with the Spirit of Vengeance in the comic, a Satanic serial killer will take reins instead on AoS.

Though we already familiar with Blaze and his massive fiery motorcycle, Reyes will be driving a muscle car.

Executive producers Jed Whedon and Melissa Tancharoen said that the inclusion of this arc signifies a clear shift in the show that will take viewers to much darker places than past seasons.
