Another X-Men franchise will be made and this time, as a television show. Executive producer Bryen Singer is teaming up with Fox to bring a yet-unnamed television show set in the X-Men Universe.
The project was announced this week by Fox Broadcasting Company's Entertainment President David Madden.
This new series will be the latest in Maverl's spotlight and will focus on two ordinary parents who discovered their children to have mutant powers. The family will also be situated as on the run from a "hostile government" and later on gets involved with an underground network of mutants in order to outrun them.
20th Century Television and Marvel Television will team up with 20th Century Fox to bring this comic book adventure to life.
The pilot episode will be written by Matt Nix (APB, Burn Notice), and will also be an Executive Produce on the project alongside Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Bryan Singer (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men Days of Future Past), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Fantastic Four), Jeph Loeb (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Jim Chory (Daredevil, Jessica Jones).
According to 20th Century Fox's Creative Affairs President Jonathan Davis, working on the project "has been a professional dream" for the entire studio team.
A "put pilot" slot guarantees the show will get a series order. If not, the studio would "have to pay a penalty to the studio if the pilot does not air."
Now, we all know that Marvel television series and movies are somewhat connected with each other. Let's see if they can manage to squeeze this one in one of those for another awesome plot twist.
