5 'Game of Thrones' Characters that George R.R. Martin Chose to be Kept Alive

In a series  where the author loves to kill the lovable characters, some fans still believe that there is still hope for some of Game of Thrones favorite to stay safe and hopefully live until the story ends. The author George R.R. Martin might just agree with that after revealing a few of those who are safe from death among his beloved characters.

Martin submitted a general outline for the then-planned trilogy, "A Song of Ice and Fire" which turned later to a series and grew to a now-planned set of seven books.

It is a quite known for Martin to kill off favorite developing characters and fans have been counting not just 3 or 5 but numerous deaths every season. More deaths are expected to come after he told editorial review that the cast of characters would be ever-changing -- with lots of unexpected deaths.

However, Martin pointed out that five key protagonists will survive through all three volumes.

These five characters are:

Daenerys Targaryen
Jon Snow
Tyrian Lannister
Arya Stark
Bran Stark
Well, Jon technically died and was brought back to life in the television adaptation. This is just a few of major details that readers will get spoiled at for watching the TV series since it's not yet written in the books.

Martin's sixth installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" is still in works, with no publish date announced and HBO's television adaptation has already overtaken the pace of the story. Though the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were told some key plot points by Martin, along with the planned ending, it is not yet certain if the storyline in the television adaptation will also happen in the following books.

For now, we can at least be relieved that these five characters will survive.
