For those loyal Cleveland fans who are
still holding on Cavs’ victory, here are five reasons why you should hold on
tighter and stay hopeful.
According to a poll done by ESPN
Cleveland’s Bruce Hooley, thirty-two percent of Cleveland fans are still “cautiously
optimistic”. Though the team is almost half at brink of losing the title again,
maybe there is still hope for this team after all. Here are some of the
breakdowns on possible ways for Cleveland Cavaliers to fix their way back in
the pace. And again, some more hope.
1. LeBron James
LeBron James has not played that well
enough since the start of the Finals and it gives a big impact on the team’s
downside. Based on their last two games, his shots decreased to 42% followed by
5.5 turn overs per game which is so not him at all. Is this the starting result
of full pressure on the King James? Maybe.
Though it’s not always LeBron’s fault.
Now, what can be the Cavs’ advantage
on this? Igoudala, Barnes and Thompson cannot defend James enough. Another
thing is, even though LeBron plays poorly, he still dominates the game. It many
not be in making points but can be in assists.
2. Kyrie Irving will be Better
Although Kyrie Irving has been having
a bad game with 33% of his shooting in the field, his astounding offensive
abilities normally come from his dribbling which tends to result in easy layups
and open pull-up jumpers.
3. Going Home
Home court advantage is the best thing
ever! Everybody is better when they’re at home and for Cavaliers, it is a tight
bond whenever they come home to Cleveland with the crowd behind them in support.
They may not have the same crowd as much as those who full up the Oracle Arena
but they have people who have been faithful for them to finally get the championship.
And for a team who haven’t had a taste of glory in the Finals yet, the whole
Cleveland’s prayers are tightly close for them.
It is also noted that Richard Jefferson,
Iman Shumpert, and J.R. Smith all shoot better at home.
4. The Warriors Leaving Home
This is the biggest disadvantage. Though
Warriors already proved that playing in the Cavaliers’ home couldn't shake them at all, based on their
record of no defeats yet by Cavs both home court and not.
But the Finals pressure is different
than the regular series and Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa, the role
players who have shot the lights out against the Cavaliers in the first two
games, are much worse on the road.
Another thing is that Steph Curry and
Klay Thompson are still quiet since the Finals started.
5. Kevin Love’s Concussion May Be a
Blessing in Disguise
Love has not been playing well in the
series and he is not a good match up against Warriors. And with Draymond Green
as his guard, he just wouldn't stand a chance at all. Love’s biggest defensive
weakness is his lack of quick feet and his current errors of being inattentive
player.
However, having Love out of the game
could open doors for Channing Frye. And with Frye scoring 60.3% from the three
point range, he has been a member of the Cavaliers most effective lineup
throughout these playoffs.
