Duterte to act properly upon taking office

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has been drawing flak for some time now due to his hard-nosed attitude.

His gutter language has ran over religious sectors, women, and media -- something that many thought of is unbecoming of a man who just won the highest post in the country.

But 28 days before he takes office as the new Philippine leader, President-elect Rodrigo Duterte is promising a “metamorphosis.”

He will refrain from profanities and complete the change with a clean look, swapping his casual shirts for the barong Tagalog.

“There will be a metamorphosis of the mind. From being a caterpillar, it will blossom into a butterfly,” Duterte told reporters on Thursday night.

His critics pinpointed to his choice of clothing as one of his unproper behaviors.

“I am not yet President. But you just wait,” he said.

Duterte takes his oath as the Philippines’ 16th President on June 30, most likely in MalacaƱang in Manila.

Duterte added, “I’m really a rude person. I’m enjoying my time as a rude person. I am not yet President.”

“But when I become President, when I take my oath of office, if you want, I can be more in keeping with the dignity of the office,” he said. “I will tone down my cursing. That will be past. It’s gonna be history.”
