Boxing all-time great Muhammad Ali dies at 74

Ali, 74, was rushed to the hospital at Phoenix, Arizona last Thursday and he has been staying there since, with the doctors revealing that Ali was in a very grave situation.

Spokesman Bob Gunnell described Ali's condition as a respiratory issue.

The respiratory ailment which he has been diagnosed for is a complication of his long-standing Parkinson's disease -- a sickness he has been fighting against since 1984.

The boxing legend also was hospitalized in January 2015 with a urinary tract infection. He was hospitalized in December 2014 with pneumonia.

Daughter Laila Ali "truly appreciates the outpouring of love for her family, as she spends quality time with her dad," a statement issued by her business manager said.

The boxing world outpoured sympathies to those Muhammad Ali survived.

Arguably the greatest of all time, Ali dazzled the sport of boxing with his flamboyant approach to sweet science.

His resume was without question as he fought the best the competition has to offer, fighting the likes of Sonny Liston, George Foreman, and Joe Frazier.
