An unidentified man in a trash bag wrapped in packing tape was found along the national highway in Barangay Balud, San Fernando town, at Cebu City past 4 a.m. on Monday.
Besides the body, a white paper with a handwritten note is displayed that reads, “Tulisan Ko! DU30 (I am a robber! DU30).”
The man was declared dead on arrival when brought to the provincial hospital in Carcar city by attending physician, Dr. Henry Famas, confirms PO1 Ronnie Margate of the San Fernando police station.
In a phone interview, Margate said “We are still conducting an investigation on this incident. There’s a possibility that the body was just thrown here.”
A local tipped off the police station about a body he found along the national highway in Barangay Balud about 4 a.m., said Chief Insp. Richard Gadingan, San Fernando police chief.
Upon arrival to the area, the police found the body placed inside a black garbage bag and then wrapped around with brown packaging tape like a mummy.
After Dr. Famas declared the man dead, the body was brought to the Tupas Funeral Homes.
Further examination reveals that the victim was male but was wearing a bra, an olive green blouse, and black pants.
Description of the victim is between 40 and 50 years old and had a shoulder-length hair.
The victim was hogtied while a rope was tied around his neck. A piece of cloth was also placed in his mouth.
Gadingan said investigation is going under way to get to the bottom of the incident.
