Actor Richard Gomez could not help but to reply some comments left by netizens on his wife and Leyte’s 4th District Representative Lucy Torres’ Instagram account asking if she said no or yes to the 1000-peso budget proposal for Commission on Human Rights.

This news had blown everyone away and made most of Filipinos to be in rage seeing 119 representatives to approve the mentioned amount. While 32 representatives voted no who agreed to the proposed P649,484 million budget to the agency that protects the civil and political rights of the Filipinos.

While the list of representatives was not disclosed, netizens had taken the job to ask their own representatives regarding their vote.

With the case of Lucy, it appeared that no matter how they questioned the representative, she remained silent about her vote.

“Sana hindi sya isa sa 119 na bumoto kase kakapanghinayang,” said one netizen.

“You owe your constituents and the public an explanation. We pay for your salary,” said another one.

While Lucy decided to shut her mouth, her husband Richard had defended his wife by giving replies to some comments.

Though it was deleted, one of Richard’s comments was, “The congressmen voted for what is good for their own districts. That is why they are also called representatives, they represent their own districts.”

Another comment was, “Ano ba ang distrito nyo? Ano ba ang pinili ng congressman nyo? Sana tumakbo na din kayo para yung ingay nyo sa social media dun nyo dalhin sa kongreso.”

With his comments, it appeared that netizens noticed it showed that the actor was ‘defensive’ saying he could just answer ‘yes’ or ‘no.’

“I don’t know why you’re upset… I think Lucy is her own woman and can pretty much defend herself for whatever decision she chose,” said one Instagram user.

“She is a congresswoman and we deserve transparency from her…Don’t say we’re just making noise…We just really deserve to know,” supported by another netizen.
