On Thursday night, GMA Network had finally revealed the mystery guy in their 15-second teaser in “24 Oras,” and it’s none other than the Atom Araullo himself.
The award-winning journalist returned to where he first honed himself as a news broadcaster. Atom wanted to explore new things in the field of journalism that he described the GMA News and Public Affairs as “the best place to learn new things about journalism.”
"Sa larangan ng journalism, gusto ko pa matuto. At sa palagay ko this is one the best place to learn new things about journalism. So, I'm really excited,” said Atom.
Also, Atom found GMA as the network who could give him his dream job.
As his first project, GMA offered what Atom really wants to experience. He will be joining the team of the multi-awarded documentary show hosted by Kara David, Howie Severino, Jay Taruc at Sandra Aguinaldo.
"Mahilig ako gumawa ng mga docu. Talagang alam ko naman na ang GMA napakahusay sa paggawa ng mga documentaries," explained the 34-year old journalist.
Atom also said that there were veteran journalists in GMA that he truly admires and working with them was such a big opportunity for him.
"Si Sir Howie, si Kara David, Sir Mike. Hahangaan mo sila for many different reasons. 'Yung wealth of experience nila, malaking bagay na para sa mga baguhan pang journalist tulad ko."
Atom had first appeared in a television show “5 and Up” and trained his broadcasting skills in a sports segment “ATOMic Sports” in 24 Oras.
